RALEIGH, N.C.  (OCTOBER 19, 2023) – The domestic structural steel fabrication industry is facing a labor shortage–and BlueRecruit is teaming up with the American Institute of Steel Construction to tackle the problem.

The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), headquartered in Chicago, is a non-partisan, not-for-profit technical institute and trade association established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry in the United States. AISC’s mission is to make structural steel the material of choice, and its membership includes the fabricators who turn mill steel into the custom parts that become America’s landmark buildings and the bridges connecting American communities every day.

BlueRecruit and AISC are working together to help bring exceptional fitters, welders, machine operators, detailers, QC inspectors, and more to AISC full members throughout the United States. “BlueRecruit is the leader in recruiting for the skilled trades industry,” said AISC Director of Workforce Development Jennifer Traut-Todaro. “We are excited to provide our members with BlueRecruit’s powerful tools and connect them with the talent they need to grow.”

“Partnerships like this are exactly how we help our country not only build our magnificent cities but develop our future workforce,” said BlueRecruit CEO Rich Camacho. “The steel industry knows and trusts AISC. Partnering with them allows us to further BlueRecruit’s mission to provide America’s workers a revolutionary path to success.”

About the American Institute of Steel Construction

For more than a century, AISC has served the structural steel design community and construction industry in the U.S. through leadership in specification and code development, research, education, technical assistance, quality certification, standardization, market development, and advocacy.

AISC’s mission emphasizes:

  • Increasing the structural steel industry’s share of the construction market
  • Unifying the industry with a common purpose
  • Supporting and improving the ability of the structural steel industry to be both innovative and competitive in a worldwide construction market

AISC represents the total experience, judgment, and strength of the entire domestic industry of steel fabricators, distributors, and producers. The scope and success of its activities could not be achieved by any one member of the industry. The nation shares the rewards of these activities — through better, safer, and more economical buildings, bridges and other structures framed in structural steel.
