Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. has established the Rock the Trades Scholarship Program to assist learners pursuing an associate or vocational-technical degree or certification in an Energy, Manufacturing, or Construction trade including, but not limited to:
- Boilermaker
- Carpenter
- Electrician
- Heavy Equipment/Machine Operator
- HVAC/R Technician
- Mechanic
- Machinist
- NDT Technician/Industrial Inspector
- Plumber
- Sheet Metal Worker
- Truck Driver (CDL)
- Welder
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Rock the Trades Scholarship Program must:
- Be full-time U.S. citizens or permanent residents
- Be high school graduates or GED recipients, or current college undergraduates
- Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year college or vocational-technical school in the U.S. for the spring 2022 semester or term
- Be pursuing an associate or vocational-technical degree or certification* in one of the following skilled trade categories:
- Energy
- Manufacturing
- Construction
Award Amount: $2,500 to 3 recipients
